This month we want to explain why you our valued customer IS getting a better deal by buying a Mammoth Euro-American than the competition from either North America or Europe.
Our truck is based on the Freightliner FLD120 – a very basic and extremely rugged truck that makes up the mainstay of most of North American’s exports to Africa. Our cab is a Right Hand Drive cabover from E.R.F.; a name very familiar with transporters in Southern, Central & East Africa. With the two major components (cab & chassis) well established we move on to the running gear firstly the engine.
Two major contenders here the highly acclaimed and very popular Cummins N14 with horsepower ranging from 430 – 525 and then the exceedingly popular Detroit Diesel 60 Series with horsepower ranging from 365 to 500. Finally we can offer Caterpillar, Volvo, Mercedes Benz and Mack on request.
Transmissions choice is Eaton fuller 9 -18 speeds or Rockwell ZF 9 or 13 speeds.
Rear Axles – Rockwell-Meritor RT40-145 or RT46-160 and Eaton Spicer DS404 or DS461.
To assist with the various length and axle load requirements applicable in the various export countries we will custom build chassis to your exact requirements as you can imagine this process is in fact a total rebuild on a pre-owned truck. We replace worn components as we feel necessary – in short if a component is worn we replace it in the rebuild process. Obviously the vehicle is more costly than an “off the shelf” used vehicle from the United States or Britain it is more desirable than a Left Hand Drive bonneted (long nose) North American truck or a overly complicated European 4 x 2 or (even worse) 6 x 2. Talk to us now about the no compromise Mammoth Euro-American.

Freightliner FLD120 is one of the best American trucks. You can tell the car legend.
Good to hear about your trucks. When you need a truck it is best to consider all int he range and then decide the suitability for the job you need. There is a lot of internet help in the same scope.
